With their joint trade fair appearance at LIGNA in Hanover, TimberTec and DataPolarna, which was acquired in 2023, marked a turning point: for the first time, the two providers presented themselves as one integrated company. The merger is paying off - with end-to-end solutions ranging from ERP and package logistics to a mobile app for field staff.

Joint trade fair appearance for integrated software solutions

The ERP specialist Timbertec , Eutin/DE, presented itself for the first time at this year's Ligna together with the logistics software specialist Datapolarna, which was acquired in 2023. The merger of the two companies is now also visible to the outside world: together, they offer end-to-end integrated solutions from log logistics to the ERP system to the mobile field service app - from a single source. "This is our first joint trade fair to see how the market reacts to the new structure," explained Sales Manager Stephan Lampe at the trade fair stand. Demand is particularly high from abroad. Projects in Canada and Spain are already being implemented, which underlines the growing international interest in integrated timber logistics solutions.

ERP and logistics from a single source

The seamless integration of TimberTec's TiCom ERP solution with DataPolarna's SIPal logistics system was at the heart of the trade fair presentation. All project information from the ERP now flows automatically into the logistics system - and vice versa. For example, parcel relocations or shipments are directly visible in the ERP. This reduces sources of error, simplifies processes and improves transparency along the entire value chain. Another highlight was the presentation of the successor product SILog for log yard management. The system enables visual tracking of logs and actively supports drivers in correct storage. Errors are detected and reported in real time, which significantly increases process reliability.

In the video you can see how easy SIPal package logistics works. Visitors were able to see for themselves using the miniature demo.

Digitization in the field service

In addition to system integration, TimberTec also presented further product developments. The new TiCom 365 Connect app from the TiCom 365 family is aimed at field service employees. It offers functions for customer planning, an overview of open orders and direct communication with the office staff. The app also uses existing functions of mobile devices, such as voice input, to simplify operation.
A new web-based module for customer information was also presented. It is part of a gradual transition to a fully web-based user interface, in which existing database structures are retained.

Another focus was on the digitalization of transport processes. TimberTec now offers comprehensive entry management: truck drivers register independently, complete safety training via
video and - with a valid tour - are automatically granted access to the plant. The accompanying documents, such as delivery bills, are then created automatically.

TimberTec EUDR solution

Particular attention is being paid to the requirements of the upcoming EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). TimberTec believes it is well prepared thanks to the complete availability of data in the system. According to
Lampe, the modules are as good as ready, can be delivered once the specifications have been finalized and should cover the requirements of the EUDR as soon as they have been finalized.
