ERP and software service provider celebrates anniversary

On October 5, 2024, TimberTec celebrated its 25th anniversary in Eutin/DE. Together with customers and employees, the software company not only paid tribute to a quarter of a century of innovation, but also to the trust and partnerships that have made TimberTec the leading digitalization partner for the timber industry. The anniversary is not only a reason to pay tribute to the past, but also to look to the future - with exciting projects, international growth and a clear mission: to drive forward the digitalization of the timber industry.

What began 25 years ago as a local company is now an international provider of software solutions.
TimberTec impresses with the consistency of its solutions: from log purchasing to machine control - all in one system. While customers were initially located in the German-speaking part of Europe, international projects in Sweden, Canada and Spain have recently enabled growth even in this difficult market environment.

Inorganic growth

One milestone that TimberTec is particularly proud of is the successful acquisition of the Swedish
software company DataPolarna. With 25 employees, they focus on logistics solutions in the sawmill and are the Swedish market leader in both the sawn timber and log yards. Other systems in the office complement the extensive product portfolio. Irrespective of this, TimberTec has already been able to further strengthen its
presence in northern Europe. Recently completed projects, such as the one at Holmen, where TiCom was successfully implemented at five Swedish sites, underline this.

Digitization for all

Projects with major international customers are impressive, but TimberTec's focus is also on small and medium-sized companies. With DataPolarna, the company now also offers flexible cloud solutions for companies with just a few users. The systems are ideal for companies without their own IT departments and still enable efficient process digitization.

Stephan Lampe,
Sales Manager at TimberTec

"Whether for three users or for group-wide implementations - our product portfolio is aimed at anyone who wants to modernize or optimize their work processes."

What will happen in the next few years?

TimberTec is constantly developing Timber Commerce (TiCom ERP), including offering TiCom 365, a browser-based version of the tried-and-tested TiCom ERP system. In production planning for glulam, the company places a particular focus on increasing vertical integration directly in the factory. TimberTec sees itself as an established specialist, particularly in the areas of glulam, CLT and KVH. High costs and the shortage of skilled workers require specific software solutions, which is why TimberTec is also working on solutions using artificial intelligence.
