Since its founding, Upper Austria’s first CLT has focused on high-quality materials and finishes. For visible areas, LOC timber uses timber rift-cut laminates. These come primarily from the sawmills of co-owners Rudolf Ortner and Josef Lauss. “Projects with high visual quality requirements are therefore part of our core business,” explains Stephan Schindlauer, technical director at LOC timber. The company plans to reach a production volume of 45,000 m³ CLT by 2026. Its products are sold throughout Central Europe. For about five months now, LOC timber has been using timber Arduvi Project Manager for project management. All coordination between the timber builder and CLT is handled via the cloud-based solution from the company of the same name, based in Lannach, Austria. “All information, such as documents and technical specifications, is stored in one central location using the Project Manager. Communication, changes, approvals, and schedule management are all handled through the platform. This ensures that both the customer and the producer are always aware of the current project status,” explains Arduvi Managing Director Andreas Zarfl.

For each construction project, timber teams—typically consisting of engineering, sales, and scheduling—are created in the Arduvi Project Manager. “It’s also possible to assign vacation replacements here, ensuring they’re always up to date,” says Schindlauer. In addition, all actions are logged within the Project Manager, making it possible to trace at a later date which person made the changes.

Direct ERP Integration

“All data from the Arduvi Project Manager is automatically transferred to TiCom. Once an order is placed, the data flows directly into production planning and is scheduled along with the necessary nesting plans. The immediate updating of subsequent changes creates a consistent information base—from the project inquiry through the quote and production planning to delivery.
Especially in CLT, with its long lead times, this transparency forms the foundation for reliable planning. TimberTec’s new web-based capacity planning system also builds on this data foundation. It enables the early assessment of available production capacities and the direct incorporation of changes into the planning process. “Our goal is not only to exchange information, but to make it usable throughout the entire process chain,” says Florian Weidinger, Head of Operations at TimberTec, describing the solution concept. “It is crucial for us that all project participants have access to the same information at all times. This reduces the need for coordination and creates transparency throughout the entire project,” adds Schindlauer.

Currently, LOC Holz handles one-third of its orders through the Arduvi project manager. Within a year, this share is expected to rise to 80 to 90 percent. There are no additional costs for customers associated with using the platform.
